Story

Flora Bhattachary creates luxury British jewellery inspired by the glamour of India’s past.

Uniting her love of history with her passion for jewellery – Flora draws on her family’ links with Asia and the East India Company to produce opulent collections that offer an escape to a world of luxury, seduction and romance.

Flora aims for a balance in her designs between femininity and an inner strength. Her vision for her jewellery is to empower women and to recognise their achievements and successes. For this reason many of her designs contain an inner symbolism – to inspire and embolden the wearer.”

Flora began her training at the John Cass Faculty of Art & Design and went on to complete a BA at KIAD Medway and an MA at Central St Martins. She has exhibited at Paris and New York Fashion Weeks, and extensively across the UK. Flora has achieved a range of accolades from selection for Professional Jeweller Hot 100 NexGem, to IJL’s KickStart, EC One Unsigned competition, New Designers One Year On, Highly Commended for Professional Jeweller’s Collection of the Year Awards and a number of Goldsmiths’ Craft and Design Awards.

Flora’s work has been featured in Vanity Fair, The Jewellery Editor, Harpers Bazaar, The Times and the Telegraph Luxury.

“Being selected as a Jewellery Pioneer is a great opportunity to plan the growth of my business and take things to the next level. I’m really looking forward to benefiting from the advice and support on offer.” Flora Bhattachary
